Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano is pleased to announce José Limón, a student from Yale University, Class of 2015, and Eliza McDonough, a student from Dartmouth College Class of 2018, as the first two intern teachers hired for Summer Session 2014.
José, a first-generation college student himself, taught seventh grade math and astronomy at Breakthrough SJC last summer and Eliza instructed eighth grade English and photography.
Program Director Lorena Martinez said, “Both José and Eliza bring incredible leadership skills, passion for education, and experience to the 2014 summer team. We are happy to welcome them back to San Juan Capistrano.”
“We’re off to a great start and the process has only just begun. Breakthrough SJC is looking to hire a team of 20 intern teachers for the 2014 Summer Program. Summer teachers are high-achieving college and high school students from around the country, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of highly motivated, underserved youth in our community,” said Ms. Martinez.
