We are ecstatic to announce the acceptance of four Breakthrough San Juan students into the Simon Scholars program. Congratulations to Anthony Chavez, Yarikza Vidal, Lidia Muniz and Kimberly Pelayo-Ayala. Up against hundreds of local students, these individuals demonstrated both their ambition and grit to achieve acceptance into this coveted program. The Simon Scholar program accepts high school sophomores and will follow them through college with the final goal of obtaining rewarding careers. As a partner organization of Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano, Simon Scholar’s mission “to guide Underserved Students, who Demonstrate Leadership Potential, on a path through High School and College, that will Enhance their Opportunities to Achieve Meaningful Careers,” aligns well with that of Breakthrough allowing the two organizations to work well together to support these students.
