Breakthrough SJC held its first “McStudent’s Night” fundraiser Tuesday evening at the local McDonald’s in San Juan Capistrano. From 5-7 p.m., Breakthrough supporters and community members were invited to come to the restaurant to purchase food to support the program. During the two-hour time span, 25% of the inside proceeds directly benefitted Breakthrough SJC and there was also a tip jar where customers could make direct donations. A dozen of our students volunteered at the event, greeting customers, reading orders, informing customers about the program, and dancing outside with a sign to alert passing cars.

In attendance were Breakthrough families, St. Margaret’s families, and Councilwoman Kerry Ferguson. In just two hours, Breakthrough SJC raised close to $500.00 with the help of McDonald’s! We would like to thank everyone who attended Tuesday night’s event and either donated or purchased food. Additionally, we want to thank Ross Pollard and Andrew Suckiel for providing us the opportunity to have a fundraiser at McDonald’s of San Juan Capistrano.
