Breakthrough SJC celebrated its third annual Family Night. Breakthrough students and families welcomed donors, mentors, advisors, and volunteers to The Boys & Girls Club to enjoy a delicious meal provided by Breakthrough families. The support of the community and its citizens is a large reason for the success of our program.

The night started off with director, Victor Cota, bringing to light the recent successes of the program. These include the 50 college acceptances that our 16 seniors have jointly received and the Breakthrough students’ academic growth this past summer. A powerful speech from our three guest speakers- Jonathan Muniz, a middle school student, Vanessa Rodriguez, a high school student, and Mr. and Mrs. Loya, Breakthrough parents, gave insight into the program’s effectiveness and the impact that our supporters have had on our community.

During the event, Breakthrough families and supporters were able to get to know one another while sharing the common goal of eliminating the achievement gap for underserved students. A huge thank you to The Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley for sharing your facilities during the event and a warm thank you to everyone who continues to help Breakthrough SJC with their time, donations, and support. We couldn’t do it without you!
